It’s BEAUTIFUL!
The painter has finished two of the rooms in the house, and I am SO happy with the colours.
My bedroom (the ultra-pale pink) is perfect. When I get the blue and white bedspread, the sheer blue curtains, and my other blue and white things back in there, the pink will warm the room just enough to give it a comfortable feeling. (You can’t tell it’s pink unless you hold something white against it.)
The library (ultra-pale green) is also ideal. The green decor that I have for that room will look wonderful, and the cool colour will make that a lovely, relaxing room for reading and puzzle-doing. It’s a TINY room (7×9 before the bookshelves go in, and only about 5×7 once the shelves are in), so the cool colour keeps it light and airy, instead of turning it into a small cave.
I’m eager to see how the boys’ bedroom and playroom will look when done. The first coat is on, and it’s a much darker colour than I’ve used in any other room. It’s still light — Sky Blue — but it’s more intense than any other room in the house. You don’t have to look carefully to see what colour it is. It’s DEFINITELY blue. So far, I really like it, but there’s still a lot of the primer showing through that first coat. It will be interesting to see how I like it when the second and (if needed) third coats are on and the primer is completely covered.
