I’m Doing a 5K!
There’s a group of us at work who are having our own “Biggest Loser” competition. And we decided that one of the things we would like to do together is participate in a walk-a-thon for a good cause. One of our members found the WalkAmerica walk, which has the goal of raising money to help prevent premature birth and to provide care for preemie babies. When I signed up, I didn’t realise it, but it’s one of those “sponsored walk” things. (How clueless can you get?!) Hence, the URL below.
It’s the URL for my “personal page,” and on that page, if you wish to do so, you can sponsor me by making a donation. I would be honoured if you were able to help me reach my modest personal fundraising goal. Will Do! How much do you have to have? I’ve heard in the USA that when you sign up as a sponsor they give a $ amount and you have to get that amount of money or have to pay yourself. Is that true?
Not in my experience. I set my own goal of $100, and as far as I know, it’s not mandatory that I make it or not make it. I set a very modest goal of $100, which I have met. I would like to double that amount if I can, but I didn’t want to commit to more than I KNEW I could make. I am also planning to make a personal donation in addition to my Blogit earnings.
