Take Me Out to the Ball Game…
I may have mentioned before that I am not real good with sports. I ran track and cross country in high school, and I dated a couple of football players. That’s the extent of my sports knowledge and ability. But I’m learning fast.
My kids are sports nuts. So we’ve played basketball for two seasons, soccer for one, and now we’re doing baseball. I’ve told them that after this year they have to pick one sport to do. I just can’t handle non-stop practises and games and such. It takes more time than we have. Now, if they each pick a different sport, I’ll let them play two — if I have to go to one kid’s practise, they might as well both be playing. The coach at church is nice about getting them on the same team, and as long as he can do that, we’re good. So, if they are smart kids (and I like to think that they are), they’ll each pick a different sport.
So today is their first baseball game. It should be interesting. The rain held off long enough for them to get in another practise — a grand total of two practises before their first game.
