Bid on an Old Friend…eBay Got Me One!

Posted by Editormum on 22 January 2004 in Uncategorized |

Wow. Ebay is good for more than a little extra income. I had a bunch of kids’ videos to sell, so I stuck them up on eBay. To my astonishment, only one of them sold. Even the 8 Blues Clues that I was only asking $20 for got no bids. I planned to relist them tonight as a 10-day auction before giving it up.

Well, I got home from Wednesday Madness* late last night, and there was a message on my answering machine. “Hi this is Amy, remember me….I was looking for kids stuff on eBay and I saw this lot of Blues Clues videos being sold by a seller called Editormum, and I wondered if it was you. I meant to bid on them, but things got away from me. If it was you, call me! I want to buy them if they didn’t sell, and I want to get together…it’s been ages!”

So I called her, of course. And we got together tonight and took the kids to Chick-Fil-A for supper. Her kids are all growing up! And she looks wonderful. And we had a GREAT time and she now has a birthday gift for her son. And we are going to get together more often. Out kids are pretty close in age, and her husband is working and putting himself through school, so she doesn’t get out much and longs for adult company. Sounds SO familiar. Yee haa!

*Wednesday Madness: Wednesdays are Bedlam for me. Up at 5:30 to exercise, to work by 8:30, pick up kid from guitar lesson at 1:30, back to work by 2, leave work and pick up kids at 5:45, to church by 6:15, kids’ choir from 6:20 to 7:15, adult choir practise from 7:30 to 9, home and get the kids in bed, lay out everything for tomorrow, and get self in bed by 10. And yesterday we didn’t get out of adult choir until 9:30, so everything after that was half an hour off. Argh!
