Someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t a smoking gun usually mean that it has already been discharged?
If that is, in fact, the case, then I don’t want us to find a smoking gun before we disarm Saddam Hussein.
I don’t want our incentive to stop this man to be that he has already nuked some other unsuspecting country — or ours.
I don’t want our incentive to stop him to be that he has successfully introduced biological agents into our schools and public buildings.
I don’t want to wait to take action until he has perpetrated another September 11, or some more horrific atrocity.
I want to take action to stop him before he injures even one more person.
