Sheer, Unadulterated Fury
The woman next door, the one who accosted me a few weeks ago for raking leaves out from under the hedge, just stopped me on my way in from getting the mail to tell me not to plant anything on the verge today, as they are having a fence put in. I ignored her completely. Which was rude, I admit. But I cannot tell you how furious I am. She accused me of destroying her property, and now she’s putting in a fence. She is obviously convinced that I did wreck her ruddy bushes. All I can say now is, that ruddy fence had better be on her side of the property line, and her work crew had ruddy well better not mess up the flowerbeds I’ve already planted. Any damage to my property, and I will demand that she make restitution — even if I have to take her to court. I’ve had enough of her harrassing me and my kids.
And now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, I feel much better. I’m going to go mow the lawn.

So sorry to hear you’re having a war with a neighbor. This can be so distressing! But you are right in standing up for yourself. You can’t allow people to push you around nowadays, cuz they definitely will. Just stand your ground!
My neighbors are awesome! They bring over dessert, gifts for the kids, and they watch the house when we leave. No fence needed here.
