What a Month!
So we worked it all out and the fence is up. Looks nice, and the kids and I are finding it lovely to be able to use our backyard without having to share it with snarling, slavering, vicious dogs.
Then it was Thanksgiving, which was kind of crazy. Our family had the meal on the Sunday before, which worked out nice because then I had four days of peace and quiet in which to work. The kids went to Gatlinburg with their dad, so it was just me … or would have been except I invited a friend over because she works nights and was scheduled to work through the holiday, and her room-mate was having family over for the holiday. I said, “Hey, it’s only me in the house from Thursday night to Sunday night, so why don’t you come crash here? You can get some sleep, and your roomie won’t have to worry about keeping the kids quiet.” So she did, and it was very nice. We had time to visit, and I also got a LOT of work done.
Then it was time to finish prep for the company awards banquet. This year, we Photoshopped pictures of our bosses’ faces onto Snow White and the seven dwarves … and popped them in with pictures of employees … all to the tune of “Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, It’s Home From Work We Go.” It was hilarious.
So that banquet was last night, and that means things will quiet down for a few days and I might be able to catch up on a lot of things that had to slide during the insanity. thank goodness.
