I Was Down, But Now I’m Up and Running Again
Okay, folks, I’m back and doing better. Three things have really helped to lift my spirits in the past ten days, and I have learned something very important about my body’s reaction to a particular food.
First thing that helped lift my spirits was realising that I had not taken my vitamin B supplement since the beginning of my last cleanse, in March. Started taking the supplement, and began to see improvement almost immediately.
Second, we had a fabulous sales weekend at the MHEA Home Education Expo, making our highest sales figure ever! Our commission was $125! After the really depressing show in Jackson in April, I was about ready to quit. Now I’m feeling more confident that it wasn’t my selling ability, it was just the low turnout at the fair.
Third, I have just paid off two more credit cards, bringing my unsecured debt down from $23,000 last June to only $9,500 as of today! That is a huge weight off my mind and spirit, I can tell you. If I can maintain the current payoff amount each month, I will be out of debt by the end of December. Of course, I have had a lot of wonderful windfalls this year — the $1,600 tax refund, the $2,000 insurance payoff from the accident in March, and the huge editing job that netted me nearly $1,000 — all of which helped to clear that debt fast. And my boss’s getting my house refinanced for me, lowering my monthly payment by nearly $50, was a big help as well. But the debt paydown is still an accomplishment that I can be proud of.
And I have learned that potatoes are deadly to my weight control issues. I had a very small slice of baked potato with sour cream — and I mean very small, like, no more than two or three ounces of potato — one day last week. The next morning I was swollen all over and couldn’t fit comfortably in any of my bras. I’m still trying to work that potato out of my system! So, obviously, potatoes are going to be right out of my menus. Forever.
