Crazy Days
We were so disappointed that the skies in our town were overcast last night … the boys and I had read up on lunar eclipses and were looking forward to watching one “for real.” Now we’ll have to wait until December 2010 to catch one. Oh well.
We sold the washer and dryer, and now I have to buy my new ones. Don’t have the cash on hand just yet … GOT to finish that insurance paperwork and get the claim paid, because I used the Christmas bonus that’s paying for the new appliances to pay for the replacement things that we needed while waiting for the insurance claim. It’s all on me, at the moment; I’ve GOT to get my stuff turned in. But as I told the adjuster, every time I think I’ve got it about done, I unpack another box and find something that I thought was stolen. I don’t want to claim things that weren’t taken, so I’m “procrastinating” on the paperwork.
Also need to finish various little items around the house; a sort of punch-list of finishing bits like putting the faceplates back on all the outlets, and touching up the paint in spots. But we’re living at home now, after nearly a year of living with my parents. It’s nice. But I miss the family.
Working on the accident stuff, too. Doctor’s appointments still to endure, and getting diagnoses confirmed. Sigh. I hate going to the doctor’s office.
And working on the child support issues too. Fired my lawyer. Hired a new one. Have to get the new one up to speed on where we’ve been and what we’ve done since April 2001. And all my paperwork is packed — or in shambles from where the burglars threw stuff all around my house. I am down to about six boxes of papers and “things” to go through, sort, and re-file. The aftermath of a burglary is rotten.
So it’s insane here. But I’m working my way through. And when all of this is past, I hope to have a week of doing absolutely NOTHING!
