Lacking Motivation
I have so many projects to complete this weekend, and here I am, browsing around on Blogit to pass the time. I just can’t get motivated about any of these projects. One of them is even an editing job that’s going to bring in some much-needed cash, but I am just completely uninterested in it.
Part of the problem is that my head is still congested and my ears feel full. I’ve got the sniffles, and I’m tired.
Part of the problem is that we were up late last night — semi-unplanned. You see, I haven’t done much with the kids recently other than school-work, and I wanted a nice, family evening doing something I knew the kids would enjoy. So we went to Game Stop and replaced some of the PS2 games that were stolen back in November, since we had my brother’s PS2 to play on. The plan was to go home, change into pajamas, and stay up until 9:30 (an hour late for them), playing our games. The whole time we were at GameStop, this little voice in my head kept saying, “You should just go ahead an get the PS2 now, as well. Because you’re going to replace it anyway, and Brother might like to have his console back!” But I quashed the little voice, since Brother had gladly loaned his, and hadn’t asked for it back. I haven’t settled with the insurance company yet, so I figured another week or so (til payday) wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Only, when we got home, my brother had come by and picked up the PS2! We had come in and gone straight upstairs to put on our jammies, and we came down and ate dinner. Number 2 son finished first, and went to set up the game … he came back in and said, “Mom, where is it? It isn’t there!”
I called Brother, and sure enough, he’d come to get it. So I got us all dressed again, and hurried back to GameStop to buy us a new one. The kids were SO relieved. They had been very upset to think that we wouldn’t get to game together last night. I like being the Mom Who Saves the Day. LOL!
So we stayed up til 10:30 playing. Late for them, but they can sleep in on Saturdays, and it makes the time with me even more special. I think.
