Fire investigators in Pennsylvania believe that a bird was responsible for setting a house on fire in late March. They determined that the bird used a smoldering cigarette butt in the construction of its nest, which was in the ceiling of the house.
Fire Chief Donald Konkle said, “The nest was 60 percent consumed and we weren’t able to interview the bird,” he said. “I believe he’s homeless.”
This should serve as a warning to smokers that flicking butts away can be dangerous. With DNA testing, the authorities might be able to trace your flicked butt back to you, and then you could be charged with involuntary arson….or something like that.
