The AP reports that this cabbie started dressing as Elvis three years ago, as a Hallowe’en stunt. People liked it so well, and his tip income increased so much, that he kept it up, even researching Elvis’s life in order to better fill his part and answer his fares’ queries about the King.
Then he got busted. Now he has to pay a $60 fine, but that isn’t going to stop him. While he will stop wearing the full costume, he intends to continue wearing a caped jacket — apparently, the cabbie-uniform ordinance covers only shirt and pants, not capes.
