Rained Out!
My son was supposed to have baseball practise last night, but as we were driving to the field, it began to sprinkle. By the time we got to the field, it was pouring rain. And lightning was cracking around us. We sat at the field for a few minutes until the downpour lightened just a bit, and then we headed back home. He was disappointed, but not sorry. He’d wanted to practise, but he didn’t want to get wet in the rain.
The rain also meant that I missed my walk yesterday. Maybe I will get to make it up tonight — although, with this being church night, it’s an iffy prospect. While I’m not teaching or attending a Bible study right now, the kids are still in children’s choir. And that’s important to me, even if it’s not so important to them.
I’m glad of the rain. It’s been dry, and we needed a good wash-down to tame the Green Plague. It’s a lot easier to breathe today, and the cars don’t look hazy. I hope it rains a bit more before the weather clears.
