I have a dilemma. My kids have been invited to a birthday party on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4. Since it’s people they know through my X, I said it was fine for them to go if he could take them. The X, however, is going to be out of state on Saturday. As in, across the country. So he cannot take them.
I don’t know these people. I’ve met their kids, and I can’t stand the snotty little carps. However, my kids adore these people and will be terribly disappointed if they cannot go.
Unfortunately, I already have plans for this Saturday. I’m supposed to be running wire and hooking up plumbing in my house. I can probably postpone the work to take my kids to this party. But I hate to do that — if I don’t finish my work, the contractors will have problems on Monday.
But I deeply don’t want to disappoint my kids. I also don’t want to have to meet these people with the bratty kids. What a dilemma.
