They’re Home!
My babies are home, and all is right with the world. They had a good time, though they had a few contretemps along the way.
The youngest fell at a waterpark they visited and cut his chin open. They left their dog-tags in Idaho after visiting some people their dad knows there. They played some sort of shoot-em-up video game and the youngest couldn’t get the hang of it. He called me in tears to tell me that his brother and uncles were ganging up on him and not letting him have a chance. They lost their favourite stuffed animals. They missed their flight out of Sea-Tac, so there was some concern about whether they would make their connecting flight to Memphis. (They made it just fine — they’d had a 4.5 hour layover, so I wasn’t too worried.)
But they visited a lot of fun places, and have a lot of great stories to tell me.
They are bone-tired, so we’re taking it easy this week … they have VBS in the morning, and we’re letting them take a nap in the afternoon. Also, a slightly earlier bedtime, and getting to sleep a little later in the morning. And good, wholesome food.
My world is right again.
