I love it when God works things out like this. My air conditioner isn’t working, and it’s hot as blue blazes in my house. So I decided, with the temperatures in the 90s and not slated to drop anytime soon, to call in the a/c repairman. I want it fixed before the kids get back.
My hope was that I could just take this coming Friday off and get the a/c fixed in the morning — I have a curriculum fair to attend that afternoon. So I called the a/c people this morning, and explained that my a/c was out. The lady took my contact information, and then said, in a very dismayed and apologetic voice, “I’m so sorry, but we can’t get anyone there until Friday.” There was dead silence on the other end of the line when I replied, “If they can come in the morning, that’s perfect!”
So they will be here between 8 and noon on Friday, and I will have a/c before the kids come home.
