What Can I Say?
The house is too quiet … well, it would be too quiet if it were not for the giant high velocity fans scattered throughout the house. Try getting a HVAC serviceman to come out on Memorial Day weekend. Hah!
I know one company I won’t be using though. I called them on Saturday morning and got their answering service. That would not have bothered me, except that when I explained that it was only 9 a.m. and it was 95 in my house, they said they would try to get in touch with me. Then they put me on hold for 20 minutes! No hold music, no occasional check-in to see if I’m still there, no nothing. I finally hung up. I mean, no amount of yelling on hold is ever going to get someone to come back and acknowledge me or give me an update. And I haven’t heard back from them yet! It’s been more than 24 hours, and no one has called me back. If I were elderly, or had health problems, I could be dead! So that company is blackballed.
So … I’ll call another company on Tuesday and make an appointment for them to come out on Friday morning. I know I can trust this other company; I’ve used them before.
It’s gonna be a long, long week. I miss my kids.
