HOT
It’s hot. And our air conditioning hasn’t been serviced yet, so we are sweltering. The highs are in the upper 80s and the lows are in the upper 70s right now, and no break in sight. I bought some fans yesterday, three small high-velocity fans, and an oscillating tower fan. Keeping the living room and kitchen cool is a hopeless task, but the fans do keep the bedrooms cool enough that we can sleep.
Of course, all the windows are open , and I’m keeping the vent-a-hood running in the kitchen because it does suck hot air out of the house. And every ceiling fan in the house is running, and we’re using the electric lights as little as possible.
But it’s still hot. I’ve got to get someone out here soon, or we’ll all melt.
But getting someone out is a problem. I don’t have any time off left — technically, I have a day left, but it’s already spoken for later in June. I don’t get any more vacation days until late July. The place I usually use (because I know I can trust them) works normal business hours … I think. The main problem is the time off … but I’m going to call the AC people tomorrow and see what I can arrange. It’s too darn hot.
