What a Weekend!
I got a lot done — not everything I wanted, but a lot. And I’m coming to the realization that I probably have far too optimistic an expectation of what I can get done in one weekend. LOL. Bit slow, huh?
I got four articles written and submitted to the website I write for. I’ll have to fit in two a day over the next week to make my monthly quota, but that’s my fault for taking so long with the research.
I got a flowerbed weeded and the back yard sprayed for weeds. (Yeah, I’d like to go organic, but right now, I haven’t the time. So Weed-B-Gon and Round-Up are my friends.) I also got my four planters planted with seed for Bells of Ireland, California poppies, and moss roses.
I got all of the laundry washed, so now I have to fold it and put it away. That should take a couple of hours. Oh, and iron. That will take another hour or two. And mending we won’t even talk about. LOL.
I got the kitchen clean, except for mopping the floor. Believe me, that’s an accomplishment, even without the mopping. Especially since I bought groceries for the next two weeks, and actually processed the meat and got it in the freezer.
I finished one of the four books that I have to get through before the big exam on May 6.
I took the kids to their favourite restaurant on Friday, and played a few video games with them on Saturday and Sunday. I’m their hero. I can conquer the blackbird level and the canyon run on their Playstation Shrek game. Yeeeek.
I got a little bit of filing done. And a little bit of decluttering. And I wrapped four birthday presents for the kids to take with them to a party that their dad took them to on Saturday. We all went to church on Sunday morning, and I went to handbell rehearsal on Sunday evening.
So I’m pleased with how the weekend went. If I goofed off a little less and worked a little more, I might have gotten more done, but I would have missed out on time with the kids. And that would not be good.
