Another infant has died because she was left in a car. In 100-degree weather. Most tragic is that many of these people “forgot” that their child was in the car.
When the temp outside is 100, the temp inside of a car can exceed 150 degrees in less than 15 minutes. Most kids who die after being left in hot cars are in the car for two hours or more. One of them was in there for an entire day! What happens when you put strips of meat in the oven at 150 degrees for two or three hours? Beef jerky. Biltong. Something that you do not want your kid to turn into.
And how do you “forget” that your kid is in the car? I’m sorry, but I can’t imagine that. And I’ve been a busy, preoccupied, single mom juggling errands, kids, food, etc. I’ve NEVER forgotten my kids. ESPECIALLY when they were infants!
I just don’t understand why we have this kind of thing happening year after year.
