Back on My Feet

I had my second follow-up visit with my foot surgeon this morning, and, much to my relief, he told me that I could take off “the boot” and start wearing tennis shoes. HOORAY!
The boot does a great job of protecting the foot, but it makes you walk funny because the sole does NOT bend. At all. So you kind of walk flat-footed on the one side. And that was making my hip hurt. Oddly enough.
Anyway, being in tennis shoes means that I can drive again! YAY! I hate relying on other people to get where I want to go.
So, while I still have to go slow and take it easy on that foot, I can start getting back to my normal life. And that makes me VERY happy.
