Returning to Life
Well, this has been an odd few days. I went in for surgery on Friday morning, and went home that afternoon. I was put to bed, and I didn’t really wake up again until Sunday afternoon. I was only sort of awake on Sunday and Monday, and I used up the last of the painkillers Monday at bedtime. So today I was a lot more alert and awake. Advil does a good job on the pain, but it doesn’t make you sleepy.
Foot hurts. Not horribly. Just a nagging “ouch.” Follow-up visit tomorrow to have the dressing changed and see how things are going. Hopefully I will be allowed to go into a “walking boot” and will be able to get around a bit more. I am SICK TO DEATH of lying in bed with my foot elevated.
If I’m allowed go back to work, it will be half-days for the rest of the week. I’m not strong enough to do full days, and I can’t drive yet. And my foot is still hurting enough to be a distraction.
Don’t know how often I will be able to post in the next week … depends on the doctor, work, and access to computers. I’m working on my dad’s laptop at the moment. I don’t like laptops, but I have to admit that they are sometimes convenient. Like now.
