Can’t Wait for Friday!
It’s only Wednesday, and I have only today and tomorrow and then I’m off for a three-day weekend. Thank goodness! I am ZONKED!
It’s been a really tough week at the office, because my friend and coworker turned in her notice last Friday, and they had her clean out her desk and go on. She’s in a sensitive position, so I understand why they paid her the two weeks’ salary and let her leave. But it puts me in a bind.
I am now having to cover her desk and mine too. And both of us do the work of two people. I’m running morning to night. And that’s no joke. That’s why I haven’t blogged much lately — I’ve been working too much.
Especially since I currently have a newsletter due out by the end of next week, AND I’m editing a manuscript for a client who, bless her, is always operating on an urgent basis.
It’s really a dreadful time for me to be taking a Friday off, but I’d arranged this several weeks ago because my parents are taking a trip to Pittsburgh and someone has to watch the kidlets. (Mom takes care of them during the workday for me.) So I have to take it. And I’m actually glad. As hard as I have been running since noon last Friday, I need the break.

Yes be good to yourself! I too am a single mom, and a mom of 5 children, we do two jobs at home and then two jobs a work sometimes, that is why the call us single moms super moms… and you deserve all the time you can take just for yourself. And make sure you take it.
I now only have 1 out of my 5 left at home with me, and I take that moment each day to do something just for me.. even if its a soak in a warm bubble bath with my favorate music playing.
Take it. Have a good time. Tell eveybody in the iron city I said “hey”.
I loved visiting Pittsburgh when I was in college. Helluva sight at night. Beautiful.
