ITCH!
For several weeks now, my shoulder blade has itched. Only the right one, and only in one certain spot. It’s maddening. It’s in a spot I can’t reach (of course), so I have to have a back-scratching implement with me at all times. I carry a bamboo one in my briefcase, so I have it at work or home. For church, I carry my mother’s telescoping metal one — it’s not as good, but it’s more discreet than whipping out the 18-inch bamboo jobbie and jamming it down the back of my dress.
But it’s getting annoying. I’m sick of the itch! My mom and I figure it’s an irritated nerve somewhere, but it doesn’t seem to be getting over itself. I had mom check and there’s no spider bite, tick, or sore there to explain the itch.
If it lasts more than another week or so, I’m going to have to go to a doctor. It’s SO distracting. Not to mention, my boss keeps giving the bamboo back-scratcher the quizzical eye. It’s embarrassing when he walks out of his office and finds me frantically sliding a stick up and down my back.
