Motherhood = Worry
My baby boy is sick. I’m worried that it’s something serious. He started complaining of a sore throat on Tuesday, and spent the whole day on the couch, sleeping off and on. That evening, he said his stomach hurt, and he vomited once and had several bouts of nausea that threatened, but never developed into vomiting. Today, he rested some more, still complaining of sore throat, stomach-ache, and head-ache. I gave him some children’s Tylenol, which seems to have helped the head-ache, but he says his stomach and throat still hurt. And when he was dressing for bed, I noticed a fine, red rash all over his torso.
The rash did it. I’m calling his pediatrician and getting him seen on an emergency basis tomorrow. That rash looks too much like measles for me to rest easy. I want measles ruled out. (Please, God, let measles be ruled out!)
My other son is fine. And they do nearly everything together, so it’s hard to imagine that if one has measles, the other won’t get it. But so far, thank goodness, the older boy is fine. Please let him stay fine.
