The Kids Got Their Wish!
We finally put their beds together as bunk beds today. I’ve been trying to do that since something like May! But X lost the pins that secure the beds together somewhere up in the insulation of the attic when he started the (still unfinished) attic-decking project. And the beds are “This End Up!” furniture, which means solid wood and verrrrrrry heavy. So I had to wait until help could be gotten and new pins could be made. Thanks to Dad for the new pins, and thanks to Mom, Dad, and Baby Brother for helping rearrange the bedrooms.
We moved the toys and work-desks into what used to be #1 son’s room, and that will be the kids’ playroom from now on. We cleaned #2 son’s room and put the bunk beds and dressers in there, and we moved #1 son’s clothes into the other half of the closet.
They are so excited! Number one son has been wanting the top bunk for more than a year. They’re rock-solid asleep now. I’m going to go take a bath and go to bed — I hope the hot bath makes the tiny sliver of glass I stepped on today come out of my foot. It hurts! You wouldn’t think that something so tiny could hurt so very much!
