Busy Week
Actually, this week hasn’t been so bad. Work has been busy, and Wednesday evening was insane, but otherwise, it’s been a relatively easy week. I’m just working on a lot of different fronts at one time.
Wednesday … Wednesday was nuts. I got off work at 5 and went straight to the little international grocery/restaurant where I have a steak every Wednesday before rehearsal. But they were closing early this week, so I had to get there to pick up my supper before they closed. Then I had a chiropractor appointment at 5:30, so I went from the bistro to the doctor. Then I had to go home and get some movies that were due at Blockbuster — I’d walked right past them when leaving the house that morning. I stopped a few extra minutes at home to eat my dinner. Got the movies, took them back, and then needed gas and a car wash. Then I had to pick up a book I’d ordered from Davis-Kidd. Then it was time to head to rehearsal. I had to be there by 7. So I did all this stuff between 5 and 7 p.m.! And I was actually about 10 minutes early to the rehearsal, and had time to edit the newsletter I’m working on this week. Amazing.
I’m glad it’s Friday. Tonight, the kids and I will go home and have dinner and watch a movie, and we’ll go to bed early. Tomorrow, they have basketball camp at our church, so I’ll drop them off at 9 a.m. and pick them up around 4 p.m. Which means that I am free to go over and help my mom get ready for the party at her house — it’s time for the Summer Birthday Bash, when my family celebrates June, July, and August birthdays. There are so many of us now, and we have such varied schedules, that it’s easier to celebrate birthdays in chunks. We do one in the spring, for the February and March birthdays, and another in summer. Among the ten of us, there are only five months in which we have birthdays. Most of our birthdays are in July or March (2 people in each month). I’m not sure when my new sister-in-law was born … I’ll have to get her on the list, along with my potential sister-in-law. (They are both still in college, so they are not making any plans at this time — but I like her.)
Anyway, so Sunday afternoon will be the birthday bash, and then we are going to go home and go to bed early again. At some point, I’ve got to get some groceries. Maybe tonight before we head home.
