A Profitable Day
I did so much today!
I got up at 6:30 and went for a walk — about 20 minutes, and approximately 1 mile. Haven’t done that in years. Then I put in the path lights that I bought the other day. I filled the dozen or so birdfeeders in the back yard, planted some herbs, and emptied the standing water off of the tarp over the sandbox. I had a good breakfast, returned a phone call, and took a shower. I sliced eight bell peppers and two bunches of celery for snacking on, and took out the compost and the trash. Then I tidied up my bedroom and recut my bouquet of flowers so they’d last another week.
Then I had some errands to run: I made a bank deposit, returned some stale crackers that I had bought yesterday, went to the garden store for mulch and some moonbeam coreopsis they were holding for me, went to Home Depot for some more path lights, hit Radio Shack (for a walkman and a weather radio), and went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond for new pillows. Then I decided I wanted Taco Bell for lunch.
I ate lunch and played a game of online Scrabble. Then I realized I was bushed, so I took a 2-hour nap.
When I woke up, I put on a load of laundry and started writing. I managed to get six articles typed and posted today. I also cleaned and replaced the laces on my roller skates, did another load of laundry, and cleaned the kitchen.
It’s now 11:30, and I’m getting sleepy, so I’m off to bed. It was a good day.
