Shaping Up for a Busy Weekend

Posted by Editormum on 17 December 2004 in Just Another Single Mother |

Everything happens at once. LOL. Tomorrow morning, my son has a basketball game. I have to have him at the gym by 9:45 a.m. I have Messiah rehearsal at 1:00 p.m. at church. I have to drop the kids off at mom’s afterward, and then make my way to my brother’s house for a Christmas party at 6.

I also have to get ready for Sunday, since we have a special Sunday School at 9:30 where the kids need to be dressed up to take part in a living Nativity story. And I have to be at church by 9 to rehearse handbells for that part of the morning service. At the 11 o’clock service, we sing The Messiah. Afterwards, we have a potluck, and I have signed up to bring heroin chicken wings, salmon-stuffed thousand-year eggs, and a low-carb dessert.

So I have four dozen eggs a-boiling in the witches’ brew that will turn them into thousand-year eggs; I’ve mixed up all the ingredients for the chicken coating, and I’m about to make the stuffing for the eggs (everything but the egg yolks—the eggs have to sit in the brew in the fridge overnight). I’m going to mix up one recipe of the dessert I want to take, to see if I like it. And after I tuck the kids in bed, I’m going to clean and prepare all the chicken wings.

Tomorrow, I’m going to make French Toast for breakfast and peel half of the eggs. After the game, I have to go to the bank (deposit Christmas bonus!) and get us all some lunch before heading to rehearsal. Then I’m going to go home and cook wings and make the dessert and stuff two dozen of the eggs (the other two dozen are for the office holiday party next Thursday).

It’s gonna be a busy weekend.
