Visitation Can Be Complicated
You’d think it’d be simple: each of us has the kids on alternate weekends. But then there are holidays that crop up, and sometimes work responsibilities. June is a mess for us. Originally, I had them on Father’s Day weekend, and he had them on my birthday weekend. So we’d planned to just swap those two.
But then an out-of town conference related to my job came up, and a curriculum fair. So we swapped up some more. He has them the first weekend in June. Then I will have them the following weekend, and he will have them for Father’s Day weekend. I’ll have them the next weekend (my birthday), and the last weekend of the month.
Only thing is, we got that all set, and then my company announced that our annual picnic at the local Golf ‘n’ Games park is on the sixteenth—that’s Father’s Day Saturday. So now we have to iron out that wrinkle — X will pick them up at 3 at the G&G park and stay with them, instead of picking them up at 8 at my house.
Sigh. And they wonder why single parents go nuts. Just trying to iron out visitation issues will scramble your brains!
